Animal Aid investigators filmed partridges in barren cages.
Action: On 15 June 2015, Animal Aid reported conditions at these two farms to the Defra Minister, Liz Truss. We received a response from Minister George Eustice on 24 June, in which he said that he had asked APHA to investigate. When we received no further response to our enquiries, Roger Godsiff MP wrote to George Eustice for more information. He was told: ‘A veterinary inspection was carried out in June 2015 which concluded that in general the welfare conditions were good and compliant with the Code of Practice …’. It also said the farm had ‘withdrawn’ enrichment following an outbreak of parasitic disease.
