Animal Aid investigators found dead pheasant chicks in the rearing sheds. Pheasants were kept in raised laying cages (these were old cages made from wood rather than metal), which had a rudimentary perch and a piece of string hanging down for ‘enrichment’. The birds were fitted with beak shrouds.
Animal Aid did not report this farm to the authorities.
